Letters to June, #10

Dear June,

People – especially people who we’re friends with or around a lot – have great influence in us. That influence can be for the better or for the not so better. The choice is ours.

We choose who our friends are. Sometimes, yeah, they choose us. But we, in return, choose them back.

Have you heard the saying June, “tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are”? I think that’s true.

I’m a sponge. I’ll absorb the things and friends around me. If it’s negative, then I’ll be unhappy and negative. But if it’s positive, then their happiness, love, positivity and encouragement is what I’ll absorb. And that’s what friends are supposed to do. They’re are supposed to build you up. Challenge you to grow, learn, be better. Support you. To be happy, I need to surround myself with people who are not only happy but genuinely want me to be happy also.

That’s what I want for you too June.

I hope I’m that kind of friend. I really want to be.

I’ll write to you soon.

Love and all the happy things,

Lar
