Excerpt From My Journal, #1

When I opened up my timer app,
it was still set up to “two minutes”
from the last time I saw you.

Two minutes to take out the cookies
we were baking from the oven
and switch out the pans on the oven racks.

Two minutes.

It almost feels like
we’re in the same place again.

I wish it was two minutes
from the last time I saw you.

No wait,
I take that back.

I wish it was two minutes
until I see you next.

Or better yet,

I wish it was two minutes
into a time spent with you.

    1. Thank you so much – you are so kind! I feel like my writing is a jumble of random and rambled on thoughts and feelings. I’m really glad you like it. I enjoy your writing and poetry as well!
